How to add a subdomain
A subdomain is an extra address that sits in front of your main one, like shop.yourbusiness.com or blog.yourbusiness.com. It’s handy for giving part of your site its own address.
- Log in to the control panel. (First time? See How do I access my hosting control panel?)
- Click the website you want to add the subdomain to.
- When the website dashboard opens, click Domains in the top menu.
- Click Add domain.
- Choose Subdomain as the type.
- Type the subdomain, for example “shop”. We pick a folder for its files automatically, but you can change it.
- Click Add.
Your new subdomain gets a free SSL certificate automatically. It can take up to 30 minutes to be ready.
