How to remove sample posts and comments from WordPress

Every new WordPress site comes with a little example content. Clear it out before you launch so visitors don’t see it.

First, log in to your WordPress dashboard.

The sample post

1. In the menu on the left, click Posts.
2. Hover over the “Hello world!” post and click Trash.

The sample page

1. Click Pages.
2. Hover over each sample page and click Trash.

The sample comment

1. Click Comments.
2. Hover over the sample comment and click Trash.
