How to create an FTP account

An FTP account is a username and password for uploading and downloading your website’s files with a program like FileZilla. You can make one for yourself, or a separate one for a web designer.

1. Log in to the control panel.
2. Click the website you want to create the FTP account for.
3. When the website dashboard opens, click the Advanced menu at the top, then FTP.
4. Click Add account.
5. Enter a Username and a strong Password.
6. Enter the Folder this account can reach. If you leave it as /, it can reach every folder on your site.
7. Save the account.

Tip: Giving access to someone else? Limit them to just the folder they need.
