How to install a third-party SSL certificate
Every site gets a free Let’s Encrypt certificate automatically, and that’s all most businesses need. But if you’ve bought a certificate from another company, you can install it instead.
Heads up: installing your own certificate replaces the one that’s already there.
You’ll need two things from the company that sold you the certificate: the certificate (a CRT file) and its private key.
- Log in to the control panel.
- Click the website you want to add the certificate to.
- On the website dashboard, click Security.
- Click Install Custom SSL.
- Choose the domain the certificate is for.
- Paste in, or upload, your Certificate (CRT) and Private Key.
- Click Upload.
