Domain Name
How do I transfer my domain name to FiwiWeb?
Have a domain with another company and want everything in one place? You can move it to us. Your website stays online the whole time.
Before you start
Check these with your current domain company (your “registrar”):
- The domain is more than 60 days old.
- It hasn’t expired.
- It’s unlocked. Most companies have a lock switch in the domain settings.
- Domain privacy is off, just for the transfer.
- The contact email is one you can open. We send an approval link there.
- You have the transfer code. It may be called an EPP code or an auth code. Your registrar can give it to you.
Start the transfer
When everything above is ready, place a transfer order.
The transfer price includes a year’s renewal. You’ll find the price for each ending on our domains page.
What happens next
- We email the domain’s contact address with a link. Click it to approve the transfer.
- Your old registrar then has up to 5 days to release the domain to us.
Some registrars release it right away, or let you approve it early. Others wait the full 5 days. Your registrar can tell you which.
Once the domain arrives, we update its DNS as part of the transfer. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to reach everyone.
